Medaka Yellow
A bright Himedaka yellow variety, often considered the most common Medaka.
Medaka White
A pure white-colored Medaka, often with a pearly sheen. Popular due to its elegant appearance and visibility in aquariums, ponds and bowls.
Medaka Yokihi Deep Orange
Named after the famous Chinese Yang Guifei (Yōkihi in Japanese), known for her beauty. The deep orange coloration makes it one of the most striking Medaka varieties.
Blue Medaka
Medaka with various shades of blue, ranging from light sky blue to deep ocean blue.
Medaka Black Dragon
A dark-colored Medaka with deep black or dark gray scales, some have a metallic shine or subtle blue reflections under certain lighting.
Medaka Champagne Gold
This Medaka features a shiny, glittering gold body with a champagne-like shimmer on its scales.
Medaka Kohaku
A Medaka featuring a red and white pattern and glittering scales, similar to the elegant Kohaku Koi.
Medaka Matsui Miyuki Longfin
A long-finned Medaka with a brilliant blue back. This particular variety is bred by Matsui, a renowned longfin breeder in Japan.
Medaka Panda
A black and transculent variety, characterized by black markings around the eyes, resembling a panda.
Medaka Miyuki Brilliant Blue
Miyuki Medaka are known for their intense, metallic blue sheen along their dorsal side. A popular Medaka due to its brilliant iridescence.
Medaka body types.
Hikari-type
Shining shoulders, a large dorsal fin, and a diamond-shaped tail fin. This type has ventral traits appearing on the dorsal side.
Normal type
The original body shape of wild Medaka, without any noticeable mutations. This type forms the basis for many cultivated varieties.
Daruma-type
Due to mutations in the spine, the body is shortened to half its normal length, giving it a round, cute appearance.
